Dean Martin ‘Forever Cool’

I’m going to act my age here and admit that I did not know who Dean Martin was 4 years ago. I wish I had, because now I can’t help but listen to him whenever I’m in the mood for some good old fashioned crooning (which happens to be all the time). Although he couldn’t read music, that certainly didn’t stop Martin from singing with the likes of Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra. Recently I have been unable to stop listening to Martin’s album “Forever Cool”, which is a compilation of duets with other notable jazz and big band singers. The coolest part about this album is that the duets were recorded after Dean’s death. The high points of the album in “I Can’t Believe That You’re in Love with Me”, featuring Joss Stone, “Just in Time”, featuring saxophonist Dave Koz, “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head”, featuring Kevin Spacey, and “You’re Nobody Til Somebody Loves You”, featuring Shelby Lynne with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This is an incredible collection of Dean Martin! A shout out to Jeanie DeVincenzo for giving me this CD about 4 years ago!
